In addition to under-the-hood changes, the Dragon Dictate 2 application includes a number of interface changes to accelerate set-up, improve training, streamline customisation of vocabulary and voice commands, and simply make you more productive on your Mac. “We’ve maintained the elements of Dictate that are most important to our Mac customers, such as the native Mac interface, and integrated many features of Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 to bring improved accuracy as well as smarter command and control capabilities to this discerning audience of new Dragon customers.” “Recognising the important opportunity within the Mac community, we set out earlier this year to bring Dragon to the Mac, working closely with our experts from the MacSpeech team, and drawing on our history and proven success with Dragon,” said Peter Mahoney, senior vice president and general manager for Dragon at Nuance. Dragon Dictate for Mac also “learns” better than any previous version of Dictate, responds faster to spoken commands and supports Dragon Voice Shortcuts™ for searching the web, email and Mac desktop by voice. I'm a quadriplegic and I've invested a lot of money into getting my new Mac and I just need to know if it's possible for me to install and use any version of Dragon for Mac on it.Dragon Dictate for Mac, version 2, improves on the accuracy and performance of MacSpeech Dictate 1.5, leveraging the new Dragon 11 engine, which also powers the recently-announced Dragon NaturallySpeaking 11 for the PC. However, this is my question (for anyone who may have any experience): is support for products totally butchered? Or if they just start producing/selling Dragon for Mac as a product? The reason I'm asking is because I want to know if it's possible for me to buy another (already purchased but still brand-new) copy of Dragon for Mac 4 or 5, on eBay for example, and still be able to install and the use it on my new MacBook, regardless of if Apple still supports Nuance products? In case anyone missed it, I made a post earlier mentioning how I just recently purchased a refurbished MacBook and had trouble migrating Dragon for Mac from my backup to the new Mac. As I've also recently noticed, most Dragon for Mac products (at least on Amazon) have been discontinued. As I've recently learned, nuance and Apple ended their partnership/support for one another.
